Install

In Claude Code (v2.1.275 or later):

/plugin install uncooked --marketplace mofopeadegoke/uncooked

Or from your shell:

claude plugin marketplace add mofopeadegoke/uncooked claude plugin install uncooked@uncooked

Update later with claude plugin update uncooked@uncooked.

What it costs

Uncooked is free and open source. There’s no signup, no fee and no paid tier, and it’s MIT licensed.

It runs inside Claude Code, which isn’t on Claude’s free plan. You’ll need a paid Claude plan or an Anthropic Console account, billed at API rates. That cost goes to Anthropic, not to this plugin.

New to Claude Code?

Claude Code is Anthropic’s AI assistant that works with the files on your computer. You give it instructions in plain English. A plugin adds skills to it, and this plugin adds resume tailoring and an application log.

  1. Install Claude Code using Anthropic’s guide, and sign in with a paid Claude plan or Console account.
  2. Install Python 3, which the plugin’s scripts need.
  3. Open Claude Code in a folder of your choice and paste the install command above.
  4. Follow the quick start below. You never need to write code or LaTeX.

What it needs

Needs: Python 3, for the scripts and the reminder.

Recommended: pdftotext and pdfinfo from Poppler, to read a PDF resume (including links hidden behind words like “LinkedIn”) and to check what an ATS sees.

Windows: winget install oschwartz10612.Poppler
macOS: brew install poppler
Linux: the poppler-utils package

Optional: a LaTeX engine (latexmk, pdflatex or tectonic) to compile and check the PDF on your machine. Without one, compile in Overleaf; the plugin checks the .tex source and says so.

Optional: LibreOffice, only for old .doc files. Without it, save the file as .docx or PDF and use that. .docx files need nothing extra.

Quick start

  1. Make a profile folder and put your resume in it: resume.tex, or a PDF or Word file.
  2. Open Claude Code in that folder and share a job posting: “Tailor my resume for this job”.
    • The first time, with a PDF or Word resume, the plugin copies it into resume.tex and drafts facts.md: everything true about you that a resume may use, plus a Never claim list. Check both and answer its questions. This happens once.
    • Every job after that, you get a folder applications/<date>-<company>-<role>/ with the tailored resume.tex and report.html. Your master resume is never edited.
  3. Get the PDF: in Overleaf, New Project, Blank Project, replace all of main.tex with the tailored resume.tex, click Recompile, then Download PDF.
  4. After you apply, say “I applied, log it”. Tell Claude when you hear back. Ask who to follow up with.
